Lovebots!

The kids voted on the names of their base ten robots. Each student was given 3 colored sheets of paper; 1 red flat (100), 1 purple sheet of rods (10), and 1 sheet of pink units (1). We discussed what every robot needs and even created a list of optional parts. The students were given no instructions on how to construct...only the tools! This project was especially special because my second grade class became the teachers for my mom's first grade class. At the end they had to write out their own expanded for equations.
